With Obvius fungicide, growers of pulse, podded vegetables and canola have a formidable tool to start their crop seasons on the right foot. Obvius fungicide includes three unique modes of action, providing preventive protection for seeds and seedlings and helping growers avoid doubling down on their seed investment.
This latest innovation from BASF provides broad-spectrum seed and seedling disease control from the start. Field-trial research shows Obvius fungicide seed treatment applications can deliver more rapid and increased emergence, long-term residual disease activity and improved seedling health.
By controlling multiple, harmful seedling diseases in a variety of crops, growers using Obvius fungicide can effectively manage fields and investments with this smart first step toward a successful harvest.
How It Works
Obvius fungicide is powered by the same active ingredients found in Priaxor® fungicide — Xemium® fungicide and F500® fungicide — as well as metalaxyl. This combination of three modes of action helps control seedling disease pressure often found in areas where farmers grow their pulse, podded vegetables and canola. Among the troublesome seedling diseases Obvius fungicide helps control are Ascochyta blight, Pythium, Fusarium, Rhizoctonia, Botrytis and others.
In Montana State University trials*, treated lentil crops experienced only a 2 percent incidence of Ascochyta blight, a disease that can devastate seedlings. By comparison, the untreated check in the trials showed a 21 percent disease incidence. In addition, the treatment demonstrated proven superior activity against Rhizoctonia, which can lead to root rot and seed rot.
